Worlds Biggest Jerome Baker Bong Now at Myxed Up Creations Denver
Worlds Biggest Jerome Baker piece, JBD "Nucleus Bong" has a new home!
Jason Harris, the legend, internationally recognized as Jerome Baker, was in Denver this week for the Champs Trade show, among other things. During his trip, he brought along with him a piece that is sure to become a legend in it's own right. Some will simply refer to it as the world's biggest Jerome Baker piece, and after coming in contact with this true gem, we can only refer to it by it's rightful name, passed down by the artist himself, the JBD "Nucleus Bong." Myxed Up Creations in Denver is thrilled to be hosting this piece, on display, for all to enjoy!
The piece weighs in at over 60 pounds. It sits at over 3 feet (about 38 inches) tall, and over a foot (about 14 inches) wide at the base. This massive sculpture is made from Uranium Glass and glows under a UV light. The uranium is kind of a metaphor for the radiating of the energy forever.
Please check out the video, that shows the process of making such an immaculate and immense piece! A world class team comprised of Jason Harris, Charles Lowrie, and others, gathers at the infamous "Makai" Glass Studio on Maui, Hawaii, and embarks on a magical journey through time and space to create one of the most powerful BONGs ever made!
In the video one of the artists involved sums up the project by saying, "What a composition. What an orchestration. What a blessing to live and work with such passionate people." And what a blessing for Myxed Up Creations to now be a part of this incredible story. This is a tribute to the Snodgrass Family, and the glass making movement of this generation. This Bong erected to symbolize a monument, and a movement in the arts history. This rich culture of glass makers will stand forever in time. A legendary piece that embodies a lifetime of work, and represents a whole generation of the lampworking movement up to this moment in time. And for now, this epic piece can call Myxed Up Creations, and Denver home!
